I am looking into purchasing a tractor (by the sounds of it I should do it by 9/1 since the 3 yr 0% financing expires then) I am looking seriously at the 4 tractors listed . Here is my take so far. I am moving into a new home on 10 ac, need to mow, move snow and then landscape minor hobby farming, general playing around. Would like a FEL, 60 in Mower, blower and tiller to start
BX 2300 v BX2230- WHat is the difference here. I looked at the spec sheets and other than a bigger and heavier frame, I see no difference in the HP or hysdrolics, etc. These seem to be less exp than the JD's but the loader does not seem quite as capable. How do Kubotas in general hold up over time.
JD 2210- I have a small brand bias here but am concerned about the limited CAT 1 3 pt hitch. Will it be able to "grow with me" over time. Cost v Kabota.
JD 4110- This is really probably more tractor than I need but it has the regular CAT 1 3PH and has the 3 yr financing avail.
I know I'm asking for lots of info and I appreciate all your help. I'm posting this on both the Kabota and JD forums for varied, brand bias'd opinions :)
Tom

Tommy,
I have a 2210 and am very happy with it. I use it predominantly for mowing (the 62" MMM is an excellent match), some light-to-mid FEL work, light landscaping with my York rake, and though I haven't used it in the winter yet, snowblowing. My only use with the "limited" Cat-1 3PH (rake) went fine (probably as well as my 755, though I did miss position control). As I understand it, the limitations to the 3PH are principally height (a post hole digger probably won't work) but virtually any other Cat-1 within the horsepower range should work. Perhaps others can chime in on this.

Hi, tnttommy. I haven't owned the Kubota, but I owned a 2210 and now own a 4110. First, based on what I read and hear, the 'bota holds up as well as the Deeres. As to the 3-PH, the BX2200 had an even more limited 3-PH than the JD2210. The BX's lift arms were shorter and did not have the spread width to get around the standard pins of many Cat 1 implements. There are ways to overcome that--mounting the pins inward when possible, for example. I don't know whether the 'bota engineers improved this on the BX2230, but you should check it out (or someboday who knows can post). JDFANATIC is correct that the only apparent limitation for the JD2210 CAT 1 is the lift height. The lift arms and toplink have about the same spread as my 4110. The 4110's 3-PH offers position control, which is a significant improvement. The smaller of these tractors are better mowers, but the 4110 and its Kubota size-peers are better performers for loader and ground engaging. I have certainly enjoyed the extra loader and 3-PH lifting power on the 4110, as well as the larger wheels. There are a few more "deluxe" features on the 4110 not available on the 2210, such as cruise control and vibration dampening floorboards. You can get an aftermarket folding ROPS for the 2210, but the 4110 can be had with the FROPS as a JD option. Just a few more things to think about --Pete

If you want the full Cat. 1 hitch. Get the 4110. If the budget will accomodate it; I strongly recommend the 4115 in your case since you mention a variety of tasks that will require a bit of pto hp. ....

I Love my 2210 with limited Cat-1 3-point hitch.
